AbilitiesĪside from the Penumbral Blast melee and the Winter’s Wrath Super, Bungie previewed one Aspect and two Fragments. It’s unclear if players will need to collect all of these items by doing quests, by finding them on the ground, or by some other means. Bungie gives an example of a Warlock finding a Frostpulse Aspect in the game’s world, suggesting that at least one of them will come from in-game discovery. The post describes both Fragments and Aspects as physical objects. Fragments can also change player’s stats.Īccording to Bungie, players will need to collect unique Aspects for each subclass, but Fragments are “agnostic,” meaning players can collect and use them across all the subclasses. Fragments are slightly less powerful Aspects, and add passives like granting Super energy on kills. Players can slide Fragments into the Aspect slots, like gems going into a gem socket. For example, one Aspect causes the Warlock Rift to freeze nearby enemies on activation.īut Aspects also have anywhere from one to three slots inside of them. These Aspects offer unique effects that augment various aspects of the subclass. Players can slot up to two Aspects into their new Stasis tree. Stasis uses a completely unique form of customization, letting players select their abilities with Aspects and Fragments - two new options. The Warlock also has a melee override ability called Penumbral Blast, which fires out a freezing, Stasis bolt even without the Super active. The secondary fire is Shatter Shockwave, where the Warlock unleashes a bolt of energy from their staff, instantly killing any frozen enemies in the area. The primary fire shoots a massive Stasis bolt that completely freezes all enemies hit. Like most Supers, there is a primary and secondary fire option. The Shadebinder’s Super is Winter’s Wrath, which causes the Warlock to summon a massive ice staff. The post also gives us our first look at how to customize Stasis, which offers a completely new kind of skill tree. The post focuses on the Warlock’s new Shadebinder Super, with the Titan and Hunter posts coming in the next few days. 1, Bungie launched its first blog post detailing Stasis in Destiny 2 : Beyond Light.
